Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data I collect through btrotskyi.dev, why I collect it, who I share it with and what rights you have. It applies to this website and to the conversations that start here.
Who is responsible for your data
The controller is Bogdan Trotskyi, a freelance web developer based in Lutsk, Ukraine. For anything about your data, write to bogdan.trotskiy@gmail.com.
What I collect
- Project requests. When you send the contact form: your name, company (optional), email, the service and budget you choose, and your message.
- Call bookings. When you book a call: your name, email, the time you pick and anything you add to the booking.
- Messages. When you email me or write on Telegram: your contact details and what you send.
- Technical data. When you visit the site: your IP address, browser, device and the pages you request. These are processed by the hosting provider to deliver and protect the site.
- Cookies. Only the ones you allow in the cookie banner. See the cookie section below.
I don't ask for and don't want sensitive data such as health, financial or identity documents. Please don't send them through the form.
Why I use it, and on what basis
- To answer your request and prepare a quote: steps you asked for before a possible contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To run the project and keep records: performance of our contract and legal obligations such as invoicing (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c)).
- To keep the site secure and working: my legitimate interest in a safe, available website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Analytics and marketing cookies: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (Art. 6(1)(a)).
I don't sell your data and don't use it for automated decisions about you.
Services I use
Your data is processed by these providers on my behalf, each under its own data protection terms:
- Cloudflare: hosting, delivery and security of the website.
- HubSpot: receives and stores contact form requests (EU data centre).
- Calendly: scheduling of calls.
- Cookiebot by Usercentrics: the cookie banner and a record of your consent.
- Google Fonts: delivers one of the typefaces; your browser connects to Google to load it.
Some of these providers are based outside Ukraine and the EU. Where data leaves the EEA, transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long I keep it
- Requests that don't turn into a project: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Client correspondence and project records: for the length of the work and as long as tax and accounting rules require afterwards.
- Consent records: as long as Cookiebot keeps them to prove your choice, currently up to 12 months.
Cookies
The site works without optional cookies. Statistics and marketing cookies are only set if you allow them in the banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the links in the cookie list below. The full, up-to-date list of cookies is below.
Your rights
You can ask me to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what happened before. Write to bogdan.trotskiy@gmail.com and I'll reply within 30 days.
If you think your data is mishandled, you can complain to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or, if you live in the EU, to the data protection authority in your country.
Changes
If I change how I handle data, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
